A Michael J Keenan is buried next to Patrick Carroll and his sister in law Catherine Flannery (née Keenan). Michael J Keenan died 2nd of Sept 1883 aged 41 May he rest in peace This would mean that he was born in approximatley 1842. Too late to be on the 1841 census

There is a record of death for a Michael Joseph Keenan, aged 41, for the 3rd quater of 1883, in Wigan district.
One possible match on the 1851census, is the child of Arthur and Sarah Keenan, both born in Ireland and Living in Liverpool, St.Martins. Thier son was born in Liverpool.

A more likely match is Michael Keenan, born about 1841-1843 in Rochdale, living in Hindley in the 1861and 1871 census, in the 1881 census he is living in Chorley. But I can not find him in the 1851 census. His father is Martin Keenan (born Ireland abt 1821) and mother is Catherine Keenan (born Ireland, about 1821). Other children are Peter Keenan, born about 1843 in Ireland (is this where Michael Joseph was in 1851?) Bernard Keenan, born about 1854 in Rochdale, and Ellen Keenan, born about 1852 in Preston.
