Harry's birth certificate gives his date of birth as 28th of July 1898 and his place of birthas 4 (back) Bridgewater Street, Hindley. His father is listed as James Gerrard (Coal Miner) and his mother as Elizabeth Gerrard (formerly Elizabeth Walls). Elizabeth "makes her mark".

Harry's children are detailed, Fred had one son and one daughter. Elsie May had a daughter.
