From Trevor Nash :
Alice Eeley was married to John Gough and according to the 1891 census they lived at 5 The Common, Preston Bissett. John Gough was an agricultural labourer but I know from my father that he was also the local rat, rabbit and mole catcher. Alice Eeley was 30 and John Gough 29 at the time of the census
Alice Eeley's parents were Isaac (60) and Rebecca Eeley (61) who lived at 3 The Common, according to the 1891 census. Isaac was an agricultural labourer and at the time of the census there were three unmarried sons, Abraham (23), James (22) and Earnest (18)who were all agricultural labourers living at the same address.
Isaac Eeley married Rebecca Rubra at Chetwode, which is near Preston Bissett, on 7 August 1858. They had a daughter, Hannah, who was christened on 22 November 1863. Hannah married Alfred Chambers and at the time of the 1891 census they were living at Village Square with two sons and a daughter.
In the 1851 census there is an Isaac Eeley shown as living in Preston Bissett, but his age is 16 which does not tally with the 1891 census. Isaac's parents were William (50) and Ann (51). In addition to Isaac there was another son William (14) living at that address along with two cousins and a grandson. There were two other families of Eeleys living in Preston Bissett at the time, William (37) and Sarah (35) with three sons and a daughter and Thomas (45) and Martha (50) with three daughters a son and a daughter in law.
IGI records a wedding of William Eeley to Mary Ann Smith 27th of September 1824 at Preston Bisset. Source Parish registers, 1630-1914 Church of England. Parish Church of Preston-Bisset (Buckinghamshire)
